President’s Welcome Reception at Antiguo Casino de Puerto Rico

Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 6:30 p.m

Join your fellow Hoyas for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at the historic Antiguo Casino de Puerto Rico, a Beaux Arts building dating from 1917. Don’t forget your camera for photo opps on the elegant grand stairway and under the ballroom’s 12-foot chandelier! It’s the perfect spot to reconnect with your Georgetown family and plan your weekend together.

John Carroll Awards Banquet at Coca-Cola Music Hall

Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 7 p.m.
250 Convention Blvd, San Juan

Celebrate this year’s John Carroll Award and Patrick Healy Award recipients at Saturday night’s black-tie banquet at the iconic Coca-Cola Music Hall, a modern venue in the heart of San Juan. The Alumni Association will present its highest honor to six alumni and one friend of the university in recognition of their dedication to Georgetown’s mission of service and leadership.

Full payment will be required when booking a room through one of these booking links. Cancellations must be made by March 16, 2026 to receive a refund. This policy supersedes the standard policies provided on the hotels’ websites and confirmation emails.

The John Carroll Award recognizes alumni whose achievements and record of service exemplify the ideals and traditions of Georgetown University and its founder.

The Patrick Healy Award honors friends of the university whose record of service to the Georgetown community and professional achievements exemplify Georgetown University’s ideals and traditions.

  • What is John Carroll Weekend?

    Alumni, faculty, students, staff, family members, and friends of Georgetown travel annually to a different city to celebrate the university and the leaders it creates. The weekend is packed with social, cultural, and intellectual events that provide participants with opportunities to engage with one another and with Georgetown’s outstanding faculty and university leaders. John Carroll Weekend includes tours and excursions, lectures from industry experts, and receptions that offer an exclusive and exciting experience of the host city or locale.

  • What are the John Carroll and Patrick Healy Awards?

    Each year, Georgetown honors several alumni and one friend of the university for their lifetime achievements and record of service to Georgetown. Two types of awards are presented at a special banquet during John Carroll Weekend. The John Carroll Award was established in 1951 to honor alumni whose achievements exemplify the ideals and traditions of the university and its founder, Archbishop John Carroll. The Patrick Healy Award is named in honor of Patrick Healy, the first African American president of a predominantly white university, who transformed Georgetown from a small college into a modern university. The award honors a person who is not an alumnus or alumna, but who carries on Healy’s tradition of service to Georgetown.

  • Who may attend John Carroll Weekend 2026 in Puerto Rico?

    Georgetown alumni, parents, family members, friends, students, and faculty—as well as industry and political leaders—are invited to participate in John Carroll Weekend 2026.

  • When will John Carroll Weekend registration launch?

    Weekend registration will launch in the fall of 2025. The full John Carroll Weekend schedule of events will launch in early 2026.

  • What role does sponsorship play in supporting John Carroll Weekend?

    John Carroll Weekend is made possible through the generous support of our community. Sponsorship plays a vital role in ensuring the success of this annual weekend of intellectual, cultural, and social enrichment. Please consider sponsoring this special Georgetown tradition.

    Guests may make a gift towards sponsorship as they register online for the weekend festivities. If you are interested in contributing to sponsorship via check, stock transfer, or a donor-advised fund, please contact Eileen Moran at southeast.events@georgetown.edu. 

    Please note that sponsorship given through a donor-advised fund (DAF) is subject to restrictions. If used to support a sponsorship level that typically includes event tickets, those tickets will need to be paid for separately from the DAF.
