Bio

Bruce Blume is the founder and CEO of Blume Company Real Estate, a Seattle-based real estate development and management business.

Blume graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Washington. He attended Georgetown Law, where he made the Dean’s List and served on the student editorial board of The Tax Lawyer. Blume worked for Senator Warren Magnuston (D-WA), an experience through which he met his wife, Ann. He clerked for a federal judge in Seattle, then served as an associate attorney for a major law firm before moving into real estate in 1982.

Blume serves on the Board of Directors of the University of Washington Foundation, the Board of Visitors of Georgetown Law, the Henry Art Gallery Advisory Council, and the boards of the Seattle Art Museum and the Seattle Parks Foundation. Although the Blumes support many public health, educational, and environmental organizations, close to their heart is SightLife, a corneal transplant tissue recovery and distribution center. They recently traveled with their five children to Nairobi, Kenya, to explore the possibility of opening the first eye bank in Africa.

The Blumes hosted President Barack Obama at their Seattle home in 2012 and 2014.
