On behalf of the Georgetown Club of Philadelphia, it is my absolute honor to welcome you to Philadelphia for John Carroll Weekend 2025! After two decades, I am thrilled to bring back this cherished Georgetown tradition to our historic and vibrant city.

Philadelphia, affectionately known as the City of Brotherly Love, is a place that combines rich history, cultural treasures, and a passionate spirit that I cannot wait for you to experience! From its iconic landmarks to its hidden gems, Philly is a city that has something for everyone to love.

As you explore our beloved city, take a step back in time while you visit our historic landmarks. At Independence Hall, witness where our nation’s founders shaped history through the signing of the Declaration of Independence or marvel at the Liberty Bell which stands as a global symbol of freedom.

Once you have had your fill of American history, dive into the thriving arts and culture scene at one of the many art museums including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Barnes Foundation, or the Rodin Museum. But of course, do not forget to grab a photo on top of the famous Rocky steps for a picture-perfect moment!

Continue on your journey with an appetite for adventure and explore the many unique neighborhoods our city has to offer. Wander the cobblestone streets of Old City, experience the lively energy of Fishtown, enjoy the elegance of Rittenhouse Square, or take in the sights and smells of the bustling Italian Market. With one of the most exciting restaurant scenes in the country, Philadelphia offers endless culinary delights for every palate all showcased within our neighborhoods.

Beyond experiencing our incredible restaurant scene, no visit to Philadelphia would be complete without savoring its iconic flavors. Be sure to dig into a classic cheesesteak, snack on a warm soft pretzel, and sweeten your day with a Tastykake. Whether you’re exploring historic sites, indulging in our dynamic food scene, or strolling along the Schuylkill River Trail or Penn’s Landing Waterfront, you’ll quickly discover the magic of this city.

This weekend, I invite you to see and feel what Philadelphians truly love about our city. From its historic charm to its vibrant communities and passionate spirit, Philly is a place that leaves an impression. Much like our Georgetown family, this city thrives on its deep connections and traditions.

As we celebrate this special time, let us embrace the shared values and bonds that unite us as Hoyas. I hope you leave Philadelphia not only with cherished memories of this incredible city but also with a deeper appreciation for the strong ties of our Georgetown community.

Thank you for joining us for this incredible weekend. Let’s fill this John Carroll Weekend with memories we will LOVE to remember!
