Frank A. Ciatto (B’88, L’94, Parent ’21,’26) was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. Ciatto attended St. Peter’s Prep before attending Georgetown where he met his incredibly patient wife of 33 years, Deanne Collins Ciatto (C’89). They have three amazing daughters: Sophia (C’21), Francesca, who recently graduated from the College of the Holy Cross, and Julianna (N’26). In total, the Ciatto family is the product of 27 years of Jesuit education.  

Ciatto is co-chair of the corporate practice at Venable LLP where he has worked for 26 years. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, and he serves as outside general counsel to several privately held businesses in and around the DC metro area.  The role of “consigliere” has been Ciatto’s life’s work. His desire to give back to Georgetown began by serving in many roles for his beloved undergraduate Class of 1988.  

Ciatto joined the Georgetown University Alumni Association’s Board of Governors in 2003. As a governor, he took on the roles of chair of the awards and class advancement committees before serving as treasurer from 2014 to 2018, president-elect from 2018 to 2020, and then president from 2020 to 2022. Ciatto also served during his time as president as a member of the university’s Board of Directors and then the Board of Regents.

Ciatto’s leadership as president of the Georgetown University Alumni Association was marked by candid dialogue and a commitment to making the association more representative of all constituencies of the alumni community. 

In his spare time, Ciatto is a big fan of Georgetown Athletics, the Holy Cross women’s soccer team, and the New York Mets.
