Alcatraz Island San Francisco, CA 94133

Take a guided (or self guided) tour through Alcatraz, and hear riveting stories like that of the notorious Alcatraz Escape of 1962.

Established by Spanish settlers in 1776, the chapel, as known as Mission Dolores Basilica, is one of San Francisco’s oldest, in-tact landmarks. Learn more about the construction of the chapel and the history of the Missions in California.

 

Cable Car Museum 1201 Mason St., San Francisco, CA 94108
This *free museum is just a five-minute walk from Chinatown and home to three antique cable cars from the 1870s. Here you will learn more about San Francisco’s popular mode of transportation and have plenty of opportunities to take vintage-esq photos. If you want to be less touristy, hop on a cable car to get there!

 

Lombard Street Between Hyde and Leavenworth Streets
Become one of the millions of visitors who traverse the “crookedest street in the world,” better known as Lombard Street. Whether you walk or drive it, you’re guaranteed to be met with breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay, the Bay Bridge, and Coit Tower from the top of the street, and a stunning view looking up from the bottom.

Calling all Giants fans! You can’t come to this city and not visit the home of the MLB’s San Francisco Giants! Take in the stadium’s classic design (and maybe even catch a game) while you’re in town. If you’re more of a Nationals and/or Yankee fan, at least check out the stadium’s Coca-Cola slide and garlic fries—the fries are top-tier stadium eats!

The home stadium of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors boasts a modern, state-of-the-art facility that hosts concerts, events, and sports of all kinds. Even without an event ticket, the large outdoor patio space known as “Thrive City” is worth a visit.

Walk, run, or bike across the Golden Gate Bridge—a symbol of American ingenuity and resolve. Take a moment to visit the bridge’s Welcome Center to dive into the history of the bridge’s construction. If you feel like hiking, both ends of the bridge touch the Golden Gate National Recreation area. Enjoy picturesque trails and Vista Points in one of the world’s largest national parks located in an urban area.
