san francisco city guide

Hoopes Vineyard 6204 Washington St., Napa, CA 94558
A rare Napa Valley winery with an organic farm and animal sanctuary, this alumni-owned vineyard offers wines with bold flavors and beautiful views. Meet inspiring alumna Lindsay Hoopes (C’03), and taste the bold flavors of her signature blends—Hoopes Wine.

Duckhorn Vineyards 1000 Lodi Ln., St. Helena, CA 94574
Most famous for its Merlot, this winery is a beautiful, picturesque, and stately vineyard whose drinks have been a staple at many White House dinners. It is also Hoya affiliated, as the president, CEO, and chairman of the vineyard is Alex Ryan (Parent’21).

Lynmar Estate Winery 3909 Frei Rd., Sebastopol, CA 95472
Lynn Fritz (C’64, Parent’98, ’11) of Lynmar has many stories to share with you on his Jesuit journey, from St. Ignatius Preparatory High School in San Francisco to Georgetown University. He and his wife Anissa are passionate about “all things Hoya and all things wine making.” Enjoy this multi-acre estate dressed in rolling hills and spectacular views! Taste the Lynmar’s extraordinary pinots in their contemporary tasting room.

Three Monkeys Wine
Though the tasting room of Three Monkeys Wine is temporarily closed, you can still enjoy their delicious wines. Three Monkeys began in 2003 when three college friends from Georgetown made a barrel of wine. Stop by this winery and experience the depth and layers in their Cabernets.

Cliff Lede Vineyards 1473 Yountville Cross Rd., Yountville, CA 94599
This Canadian-owned winery is one of the loveliest wineries California has to offer and is a must visit—especially if you love rock and roll.

Round Pond 875 Rutherford Rd., Rutherford, CA 94573
Head to Round Pond for a wine and olive oil tasting coupled with a lovely cheese pairing.

Schramsberg 1400 Schramsberg Rd., Calistoga, CA 94515
Journey to Calistoga, north of Napa, for a taste of some of the freshest California sparkling wines.

Model Bakery Multiple locations.
Have you ever eaten a world famous English muffin? Grab one and be the judge for yourself at one of this bakery’s two locations in Napa and St. Helena (original location). Perhaps you’ll understand why Oprah’s voted these English muffins as one of her favorite things!

Oakwild Ranch Toboni Vineyards.
Enjoy delicious Pinot Noir created by 4th generation San Franciscans in the heart of the Russian River Valley’s Pinot Noir Country. This Hoya affiliated vineyard, owned by Joseph and Mary Toboni (Parents’06), produces some of the finest Pinot Noir grapes in Sonoma County.
